Why we do what we do
Whatever we are learning, honouring and discovering, physically, emotionally, intellectually, on our mat, we can transfer and apply off our mat, in our everyday environment.
With the aim of honouring all sides of ourselves, the intention is to take this mindful yogic movement off the mat and into our world and relationships.
It is an application process; it is integrating individual and interpersonal yoga into the ‘real’ world.
Through body exploration, and internal and external balance in our practice, we overcome getting stuck in our patterns and preferences. Through awareness of what resonates, we can recognise life is not an isolated bubble on our mats, or in our minds, it is a constant communication, renegotiation and reconnection.
How we feel, and what we need, may look completely different. Continued awareness, starting at a physical level, and filtering deeper in to the emotions; and deeper into the psyche, helps our relationship with ourselves, others, and the world. Switching and playing with these concepts, helps us to be more conscious, more flexible, and have less resistance in our day-to-day lives.
